1 c. wild rice
6 tbsp. chopped onion
Butter
2 lb. ground chuck or round
1 lb. mushrooms
1 bay leaf
3/4c. chopped celery
2 c. cream of chicken soup
1 1/4 tsp. celery or garlic salt 1/2 c. slivered almonds
Wash, and soak wild rice for 15 minutes in 3 cups boiling water; drain. Saute onion in butter; add meat and brown. Simmer mushrooms in 1 cup water with bay leaf until done. Combine all ingredients except almonds. Put in casserole; top with almonds. Refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Yield: 10 servings.

ONE-DISH MEAL CASSEROLE
1 lb. hamburger
1 tbsp, butter
2 c. sliced raw potatoes
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 c. sliced carrots
1/2 c. uncooked rice
1/4 c. chopped green pepper (opt.)
2 c. tomatoes
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 c. hot water
Brown hamburger in butter. Place a layer of meat in 2-quart casserole. Top with a layer of each vegetable and rice. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Pour hot water over all. Cover. Bake at 325 degrees for 2 hours. Add more water if needed. Yield: 6-8 servings.

Best Ever Hot Dish
1 lb. ground beef
1 sm. onion, chopped
1 c. diced celery
2 c. water
1/2 c. uncooked rice
1 c. cream of mushroom soup
1 c. chicken - rice soup
4 tbsp. soy sauce
2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
Brown meat with onion; combine with all remaining ingredients. Place in casserole. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Yield: 6 servings.
